Injection Disabled

→If a SHUTDOWN is active, Injection Disabled will appear on Status Flags Caterpillar ET.
→An Engine shutdown event will appear on a CAN J1939 device if the device is capable of displaying Diagnostic Codes.

→No active error on Engine's display (such as: Murphy PowerView, etc), but Engine can't STARTS (Cranking only). 

 

#Possible Causes:
1). Engine Overspeed Shutdown

  • The Operator may be operating the Engine incorrectly.
  • The "Engine Overspeed" parameter may be incorrectly programmed for the application, use Caterpillar ET to view the parameter setting for Engine Overspeed.

2). 75% Overspeed Verify Switch (OS Verify)

  • Faulty on wiring, switches, or connectors.
  • Check the 75% Overspeed Verify Switch (If installed), it will sending "Ground Signal" to the ECM while activated (Overspeed Test Switch).
  • ECM pin 54 (C-15 Engine).

3). Low Engine Coolant Level Shutdown

  • The Engine has been running for one minute and the Coolant Level is not being detected by the Coolant Level Sensor. .
  • Check the Engine Coolant Level.
  • Check on Caterpillar ET, Status - Configuration Tool for Coolant Level Sensor (Installed or Not Installed).
  • Check settings on Monitoring System - Low Coolant Level
  • ECM pin 49 (C-15 Engine).

4). Remote Shutdown Switch

  • Check for additional "Remote Shutdown Switch" on the Engine Sensor Shutdown System (If installed).
  • ECM pin 44 (C-15 Engine).
  • Check on Caterpillar ET (through Status Tool), and monitor User Shutdown (Value: On/Off), Remote Emergency Stop (E-Stop) Switch Position (Value: On/Off), or Start/Run/Stop Switch (Value: Run/Stop).

No Engine Speed
It's normal to see the "No Engine Speed" on Status Flags while power switched ON or Engine Cranking. It will not go away until the Engine Starts, even when you are seeing Engine Speed in Status Tool on CAT ET Software.

Hello, every friend, good news for you, The Porsche Piwis 3 has demanded for the laptop, MUST be high-resolution PC, or the software cannot show completely.(1920*1080 resolution memory 8G I5 CPU or above)Lenovo.

Before so many friend meet same problem when they bought the Porsche Piwis 3 just hardware without laptop. When they connect with the laptop that their own, first need password as below picture.

Although the resolution is 1920*1080, but still need password like picture ,because maybe the laptop is not match with the Porsche piwis 3, so before we suggest to use the Lenovo high resolution laptop.

Now our factory staff have changed for the Porsche piwis 3 hardware on January,2023, now if you buy the hardware with software, and your laptop(Lenovo, DELL, Asus, Panasonic laptop, etc) is 1920*1080 resolution memory 8G I5 CPU or above,that can work with the porsche piwis 3 well.

This instruction show you guide on how to perform signal valve pressure test for New Holland T6030,T6050,T6070,T6080,T6090 tractors.

Procedures:

NOTICE:Before performing any pressure or flow testing operate the tractor until the oil in the rear axle is at normal operating temperature. 65 °C ( 145 °F).

1.This test demonstrates how to check that the load sense lines which signal the hydraulic pump to go on and off load are functioning.

The load sense line is located on the left hand side of the rear remote valves and runs forward connecting to a “Tee” going into the compensating valve on the top of the transmission housing.

2.Disconnect the load sense line from the rear remote valve stack.

NOTE: It may be necessary to remove a solenoid for access to disconnect the load sensing line at the remote valves

3.Disconnect the load sense line (1) from the compensating valve and replace it with flexible hose (2) part no 87391563.

NOTE: The load sensing line is metal and will not flex enough to allow installation of the Tee adapter. It will be necessary to replace the load sense line with a suitable flexible load sense line hose.

4.Install the Tee adaptor (1) 297603, and the quick release fitting (2) 297240, between the remote valve stack load sense line and flexible hose part no 87391563.

With the test equipment installed as shown the load sensing circuit to the hydraulic remote valves is being tested. To test other load sense circuits it is necessary to install the test equipment in the load sense line of the specific circuit to be tested.

NOTE:When checking the loads sense line for the suspension or mid mount valve, it is not necessary to fit hose 87391563 you can Tee into the relevant existing line as flexible hoses are used.

5.Connect 0 – 250 bar ( 0 – 3600 lbf/in2) pressure gauge (3) 293244, using the hose (2) 292246, and the quick release coupler (1) 291924,.

6.Set engine speed to 1500 rev/min. Operate in turn each of the remote valves. As each valve is operated the pressure should rise from 0 bar ( 0 lbf/in2) to a maximum pressure of 210±5 bar (

3046±73 lbf/in2). Changes in pressure indicate that the load sensing line to each valve is operating.

The system interface is made up of the following areas:

Task bar

The task bar (1) displays the open programs and menus. Details are displayed as a tooltip.

The following icons are available in the task bar:

Main page
On the main page (2), you can call up selected functions using the quick-access feature or switch to the main menus.

Help function
Call up the Help function (3) using the ? Help button. A search function is also available there. You can use this to look for certain contents in the Help. The full text search looks for terms in all texts that are available in the Help.

Buttons in menus (F1 to F12)
A bar containing quick-access function buttons is displayed at the bottom of some menus. The assignment varies depending on the menu.

Tabs in menus
There are several tabs in some menus. An active tab is greyed, while an inactive tab is black.

Keyboard commands

You can also call up certain functions using keyboard commands.

Procedures:

1.Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and apply the parking brakes. Chock the tires.

2.Are the noise vibration and harshness (NVH) levels observed higher than normal when the engine is running?

YES → Go to next step.

NO → Engine mounts are in good condition. No replacement required.

3.Are all fasteners torqued as per specifications?

YES → Go to next step.

NO → Torque the fasteners as per specifications.Go to step 2 to verify.

4.Inspect the gap between the crossmember and the rebound cushion.

Is the gap between crossmember and rebound cushion greater than 6 mm?

YES → Replace the front engine mounts.

NO → Go to next step.

5.Inspect the front mounts for the conditions listed below.

Cracks greater than 5 mm on flat metal surface.

Cracks greater than 8 mm in the rubber.

Warped or cracked cups.

Are any of the above conditions observed?

YES → Replace the front engine mounts.

NO → Engine mounts are in good condition. No replacement required.

Vehicle Speed Sensor

The Vehicle Speed Sensor, or VSS, generates electrical pulses that are sent to the vehicle’s onboard engine computer, commonly known as the PCM or ECU, through a magnet that spins a sensor coil. The frequency of the pulse rises as the vehicle’s speed increases. These sensors are typically installed in the vehicle’s transmission, differential, or near the wheels to properly monitor vehicle speed.

3 Common Types Of Vehicle Speed Sensors

1.) Speed Sensors Based On The Hall Effect
The ignition key provides +12V to the VSS. The Hall switch is turned on and off in sequence as the tachometer speed cable rotates, sending a rectangle signal to the onboard computer. The car’s speed is determined by the frequency of this signal.

2.) Speed Sensors With Mechanical Tenon
The signal generated by the rotating driving wheel is rectangular in shape. The signal voltage ranges from 0V to +5 V, or from 0V to a value similar to the automobile battery’s normal voltage. The duty cycle for pulses varies between 40% and 60%.

3.) Inductive Speed Sensors
The signal generated by the rotating driving wheel is sinusoidal (alternative current). As with any inductive sensor, such as the ABS sensor, the signal changes based on the speed of the wheels.

5 Symptoms of a Faulty Speed Sensor

1.) Issues With Transmission
The transmission control module (TCM) or powertrain control module (PCM) uses the vehicle speed information received by the VSS to determine shift time. As a result, if a speed sensor fails, it will have a direct impact on automatic gearbox operation. Abnormal automatic transmission operation is one of the most prevalent indicators of a defective speed sensor. The transmission torque converter will be unable to engage the clutch and make a mechanical relationship between the engine and gearbox without precise information from the vehicle speed sensors. This can result in sliding, decreased fuel efficiency, and an overheated gearbox.

5.) The Check Engine Light Has Illuminated.
The PCM can cause your vehicle’s check engine light to illuminate for a variety of reasons, one of which is a defective VSS. You can do all tests on almost any brand of vehicle (even Tesla which is supported since this year), you can check all modules of the vehicle, read and erase codes, read all real-time data like factory scanner tools, do everything bi-directional controls, adjustments, resets etc. There's almost nothing it can't do except reprogramming modules which you should use through the OEM website. The J2534 pass-through interface is fully compatible with all brands of OEM programming.

 

But you can get also the MaxiSys M908S normal (without the Pro) and is a little cheaper because doesn’t include the J2534 interface, instead it comes with a regular Bluetooth VCI unit. If you are not going to do reprogramming, with the MS908S alone you have enough.

Both tools do the same, the difference is the VCI.
In another word, you can buy the regular M908S scanner first and then add the J2534 interface later, no problem. If you buy them new separate will be more expensive than buying all together in the M980S Pro bundle, but if you find good used deal buying separate, no problem. Is good also to have the regular Bluetooth VCI as is smaller than the J2534 interface and more handy to use. You can buy all them separate and then only need to pair the Bluetooth of any of them to the scanner to activate.

About the updates is quite expensive, about 795 US$ a year, compared to other makes and models, but their after-sales service is Top Quality. I bought my unit used and I had some issues to transfer the unit to my name and register it, and Autel Support help me flawlessly to do it without any problem.

The unit works great, never had any issue with it and I use it daily. Is my primary main scanner, I also have Snap-On, OTC and Launch, but the Autel is my main one. I do not update it every year, as I said it is expensive, and I don’t use to work on brand new cars, so I usually buy an update every 2 or 3 years and that is enough to keep the tool ready for work.

In another word, About the updates, you always can update when you want with Autel, and always you will receive the latest updates including all the software released during the time you didn’t had the subscription active. If you end your subscription, the tool will continue working 100% with the current software you have installed on it forever, and the day you purchase the subscription again it will download all the pending software to make it up to the day. You don’t have to pay extra for missed updates, just subscribe again one time, and the tool will get all the updates available during the 1 year time period of the subscription until it expires again.

If you find a good deal in one of them you will not be disappointed. If you are more in a DIY type of work, maybe you don’t need a Top of the Line scanner like that, as I said is more oriented to the workshop professional use, and Autel has also some other models cheaper that nearly do all same functions and is enough for less intensive use.

Good to know:

None of this scanners (Autel, Launch, Snap-on, etc. will NOT allow you to do coding or removing the speed limits or reading files of modules. This scanners are only for diagnostics, not programming or modifying files of the chips inside the modules.

The price for x431 seems to be around £600 compared to £2200 for the autel? Can it do same functions and bidirectional scanning and testing.

The answer is: You have to check websites from Lauch and Autel and compare functions that can do every scanner, but of course one for $600 does not do the same performace as one of $2000. Cheap ones usually don’t have bi-directional controls or sometimes can’t access all modules, etc…so read well the specifications of each one before buying them. J2534 programming is updating the files inside the modules but using OEM manufacturer newer provided files, NOT EDITING OR MODIFYING the files. If you want to modify files none of this scanners will do it.

In the Autel you only can run Autel software as far as I know, every scanner brand can run ONLY their own diagnostic software.

To sum up:

Using Autel M908S Pro with the J2534, you can do everything about DIAGNOSTICS and factory programming (if you buy the J2534 interface), but you WILL NOT do coding, or programming modifications or “tuning” or anything that means modifying the original performance of the vehicle. It only allows to do modifications on adaptations, change some configuration parameters, activate new installed modules, write VIN numbers to new modules (if allowed) or do everything an OEM dealer can do with its official diagnostic tool.

But as I said, they are for DIAGNOSTIC, not for coding, cloning or doing modifications to the OEM programming inside the modules. For this you need other tools that are NOT SCANNERS.

Customer problem:

When I tried to correct my car’s odometer with the Digimaster 3, the message Device not found was displayed on the screen. I couldn’t correct the kilometers.

You did not weld the odometer’s chip to the OBP adapter, the board you connected to Digimaster 3 was blank, so the device cannot be found and no information can be read. Please remove the chip from the odometer and sell it to the board, then try again.

 Solution: XTOOL PAD2 cannot be programmed with BMW Key

Recently a customer received their new XTOOL X100 PAD 2 but found that the item was not working. Used the Pad2 to do BMW KEY programming but didn't.

How to solve the problem? Let us find out.

Customer: I tried a Q7 2006 to diagnostic the pneumatic shock absorbers the aircraft supports only 5 marked so Jaquar land rover, benz and another brand. And my BMW 3 seris E91 for DPF system because I have the light FAP lit nothing it does not work.
Today I tried to program a key on a Golf 2000 gasoline and I can not, I try to make a BMW e46 it does not work either. I would like to have the procedure to follow.
Engineer suggest customer change the menu from “F chassis and E chassis” to “CAS 1-3”
While customer still can’t do BMW key program after using the ‘CAS 1-3”. And it appears a “Fail to communicate” and a CAS 1-3 using note:


Here are some tips to use Xtool x100 pad 2:
Choose the right menu or change the menu when you meet problem programming
Update the device to the latest version software.
If the x100 pad 2 still can’t work after update, you should tap the help on the device to test the device so that the engineer could give you more detail solutions.

    Tap “Reset tablet”.
    Tap “Clear all data” to start resetting until the tool automatically reboots.

 

Q5: How to download the X-431 PRO3 V4.0 App after resetting the tablet?

Important Message: Before registration, please make sure the network is properlyconnected.

After the tablet has been successfully reset, follow the steps below to download the App:

    Launch the browser and the default official Launch website opens (If a blank page pops up, just type in www.x431.com in the input bar).
    Tap “Login”, input the username and password and tap “Log In.”
    Make sure that the serial number is correct, tap “APP application program” and tap the Download icon to start downloading.
    After the download is complete, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

5.After installation, use the existing username and password to login and go to update center to download the diagnostic software.

 

Q6: What to do if the language of vehicle diagnostic software does not match the system language?

English is the default system language of the tool. After the system language is set to the preference language, please go to the update center to download the vehicle diagnostic software of the corresponding language.

If the downloaded diagnostic software is still displayed in English, it indicates that the software of the current language is under development.

 

Q7: How to retrieve the login password?

Please follow below steps to proceed in case you forgot the login password:

    Tap the application icon on the home screen to launch it.

How to Update Autel MaxiIM IM608 Software

Autel IM608 Update application allows you to download the latest released software.
The updates can improve the MaxiIM applications� capabilities, typically by adding new tests, new models, or enhanced applications to the database. The Display Tablet automatically searches for available updates for all of the MaxiIM software when it is connected to the internet. Any updates that are found can be downloaded and installed on the device. This section describes installing an update to the MaxiIM System. A notification message displays if an update is available when the Notifications Center function is enabled in the Settings application.

 


1. Make sure the Display Tablet is connected to a power source with stable access to the internet.
2. Tap the Update application button from the MaxiIM Job Menu; or tap the update notification message when received one; or tap the Update icon on Vehicle Menu in Diagnostics application. The Update application screen displays.
3. Check all available updates:
--If you decide to update all the items of IMMO software, select IMMO Tab and then tap the Update All button; if you want to update all items of diagnostic software, select Diagnose Tab and then tap the Update All button.
-- If you only want to update one or some of the item(s), tap the Update button on the right column of the specific item(s).
4. Tap the Pause button to suspend the updating process. When you tap Continue to renew the update, the updating process will resume from the break point.
5. When the updating process is completed, the firmware will be installed automatically. The previous version will be replaced.

This article is going to show you how to reset and program a used EGS transmission after a transmission swap.

Model:

BMW X3 2015 CAS4

Tool:

Autel MaxiIM IM608

 

Purpose:

Reset EGS EEPROM and make it back to the factory settings

Procedure:

Turn on Autel IM608, go to

IMMO>>BMW>>Smart selection>>EGS transmission system

Check “EWS_EGS Status”, and the authorization fails.

Go to “EGS Reset”.

Notes. Must have strong Wi-Fi connection and stable 13v+ power.


Download virgin file.

Backup code failed. Just continue because we could reprogram it via software update.

Have to wait for it to reset 3 parts.

EGS reset succeeds.

To check the sync of CAS module and EGS module.

Turn off the ignition for a while, and then turn it on again.

Click “EWS_EGS Status” to check.

EGS is unlocked.

We have reset EGS, so we can change gears.

Then all we need to do is coding, and then we could use the car normally.

Alright, that’s how we reset a used EGS using Autel IM608 Programmer.

How to set up VAS 6154 wifi

 

Step 1: Input the fourth CD and open it and then install the vas 6154 driver

Step 2: Open the CD and then chose the vas 6154 driver to install

 Component Unlocking with ODIS on VWAudi

 

 

 

Volkswagen & Audi introduced component lock (anti-theft/immobilizer) function to their newer transmission control modules to help fighting unauthorized swap of the control unit. If a TCU/TCM is faulty and has been replaced, a component unlock is therefore required.

Note: You don’t need to unlock the unit if you choose to clone the SW from your original unit to the new one.

Typical error messages:

Contains Component protection (Component protection active)
The control unit is currently associated with a VIN other than the vehicle VIN or the control unit VIN

You need the following tools to perform component unlock:

VAG diagnosis tool (like VAS5054A, VAS 6154) to connect to your vehicle
ODIS software
A VW/Audi account depending on the vehicle

Procedure for unlocking TCU:

Run a diagnosis in your ODIS software
Locate and select the entry “Component protection”
Click on “Perform test…”
Click on “Done/Continue”
Enter the required information. (Activation number can be your own record number)
Enter your VW/Audi online account credentials
Click on “OK”
On success, ODIS should display “The component protection base programming has been carried out successfully.”
Click on “Done”
Follow the instructions provided by ODIS
End of your component base programming
Go back to the test screen and you should see a green check mark before component protection
Perform basic settings using guided functions
Erase your previous fault codes
You may now load your SW into the TCU if needed. If you don’t have the flash program, you may contact your Shing Hoi representative.

The global TIS software you installed is old, and it only can be activated on Windows XP. Please change the XP system.


Part 2: How to Solve GM MDI2 Not Connected to MDI Problem

I bought the GM MDI 2 package from OBD2 last week. I installed the MDI Manager software along with HDD but when I tried to connect the MDI device it asked me to recover the MDI software because the one is out of date. So when I try to update the GM MDI device an error occurs every time. And at the end, after a few seconds the device automatically disconnects and I can do nothing with it. I cannot connect again and the device seems dead.

I made several attempts to update/recover the MDI device but with no luck.

CAT Caterpillar ET Diagnostic Adapter 3 after device connected with Vehicle,the indicator light is off and can not work normally

Frequently reported by North American customers
CAT Caterpillar ET Diagnostic Tool(9PIN connector)connect with Cat Vehicle,CAT Caterpillar ET the indicator light is off and the device can not work. Picture as below:



Have replaced with new CAT Caterpillar ET Diagnostic Tool,the result still same.

We checked the connector of CAT Vehicle,found the problem:

It turns out that some of the CAT Vehicle connector are not standard, can not be match our 9 pin connector of the device.

Contrast:


Some CAT Vehicle’s connector not match with our CAT Diagnostic Tool 9PIN Connector. Even the positive and negative poles of the power supply is opposite. So the device will not work and get power from the vehicle.

How to solve such problem:

Customer need to connect the correct diagnostic connector to the corresponding 9 pin diagnostic connector of the CAT device with the cable. So the device can get power from the vehicle and work normally.
